October 3 at 5:00 pm Gallery in the Woods presents Vermont author Marc Estrin and artist Delia Robinson discussing Estrin's book The Annotated Nose, which was illustrated by Robinson. Free.

October 3 at 7:00 pm Mystery on Main presents Cornelia Frances Biddle reading and signing her latest book Deception's Daughter. She is a member of one of Philadelphia’s oldest families and will read and sign her historical mystery in period costume. Free.

October 3 at 9:00 pm In conjunction with the Brattleboro Literary Festival, Hilltown Music presents in concert singer-songwriter John Wesley Harding. He has released 15 albums, ranging from traditional folk to full on pop music. Harding has appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and has toured as the opening act for Michelle Shocked and Bruce Springsteen. Under his real name, Wesley Stace, he will be reading at the Brattleboro Literary Festival from his latest novel, by George on Saturday, October 4 at 12:30. October 4 at 1:00 pm Mystery on Main presents Larry Beinhart, an Edgar Award-winning author whose novel American Hero became the satiric movie Wag the Dog. His latest, Salvation Boulevard, looks at murder and religion and is bound to stir controversy.

October 4 at 4:00 pm Mystery on Main presents James R. Benn, author of the Billy Boyle World War II mysteries. He will be reading and signing his latest book Blood Alone. Free.

October 4 at 7:00 pm Mystery on Main presents Vermont’s own Archer Mayor with his new book The Catch, the 19th in his series of Joe Gunter novels. In addition to writing novels, Mayor is also a death investigator for Vermont’s Chief Medical Examiner. Free.
